Math 254 Syllabus, Spring
2006
The course will use the ninth edition of Anton's Elementary
Linear Algebra. We will proceed through the text in the order given and
expect to cover the first eight chapters.
Unit 1 -- Chapters 1-3; five weeks followed by a midterm.
Unit 2 -- Chapters 4-5; five weeks followed by a midterm.
Unit 3 -- Chapters 6-8; five weeks followed by a comprehensive
final which counts as two midterms.

Grading is on the exams (75%), and the homework
(25%). Homework is intended for practice and feedback rather than to test
your proficiency. Getting 80% of the problems correct gives you a 100% on
the homework grade.
