II. This part is a regular lab albeit somewhat different from most. This lab is intended to
show you GRAPHING CALCULATOR and help you review MAPLE. You are to turn in
a lab report with a partner describing what you did in good technical English. Be sure to
provide a cover page for each participant on the project and to put the names of all
participants on each cover page.

 

 

1. Use GRAPHING CALCULATOR to solve the following problems.

 

 

A. Sketch the graph of the function

 

B. Solve the equation

 

 

C. Find the absolute minimum and maximum of y on the interval [0, 10].

 

 

2. Repeat the above 3 exercises using MAPLE.

 

 

Explain what you did and why. Write a short discussion of the relative merits of the two software packages for these tasks.
